The kit includes a manual containing detailed assembly instructions with photographs, operating and safety instructions, a list of wood to be bought locally, and a list of tools needed. The assembly can be done using ordinary tools and skills, and can be done by one person working alone or by two people, in about a half day or a little longer. The assembly primarily involves measuring and cutting boards, drilling holes in boards, positioning boards and steel, and fastening components using bolts and screws.

Note that approximately 80% of the material cost of a Front End Carrier is in the steel and fasteners, all of which is included in the kit. Also, because of our volume ordering, we are able to buy the steel, get it painted, and buy the fasteners, at a greatly reduced price.​ The main savings from ordering a kit will normally be in reduced shipping cost.
